- EUROCAT
Across seven regional case studies, local teams of natural and social scientists used a common interdisciplinary strategy to: identify the impacts on the coast; interface biophysical catchment and coastal models with socio-economic models; develop regional environmental change scenarios (2001-2020) and evaluate the research outcomes with regional boards consisting of stakeholders and policy makers. - MSUO - Maritime Safety Umbrella Operation
This European Community initiative is aimed at encouraging and supporting transnational cooperation between the regions of Europe. It provides the opportunity for organisations within the programme areas to work together on joint projects concerning common issues and problems in order to promote regional development.
Baltic Sea Region
- ASTRA
Focussing on the Baltic Sea Region (BSR), the project "Developing Policies & Adaptation Strategies to Climate Change in the Baltic Sea Region" (ASTRA) assesses regional impacts of the ongoing global change in climate and, then, develop adequate strategies and policies for climate change adaptation. - BALANCE
The Baltic Sea Management - Nature Conservation and Sustainable Development of the Ecosystem through Spatial Planning (BALANCE) - project aims towards development of informed marine management tools for the Baltic Sea, based on spatial planning and cross-sectoral and transnational co-operation. - Baltic Palette
The metropolitan areas around Helsinki, St Petersburg, Stockholm, Riga and Tallinn together form the Baltic Palette Region. We work to make the Central Baltic Sea Region a participant to be reckoned with, in Europe and in the World! - Baltic SeaBreeze

BERNET is a network co-operation between seven regions from seven countries around the Baltic Sea. The aim of the project is to improve the management of eutrophication problems in the Baltic Sea and in the regional waters in it´s catchment. - COASTSUST
The main goal of the Coastal Sustainability as a Challenge project is to strengthen the cooperation between the protected areas in the Baltic Sea Region. As most of the coastal areas have similar problems regarding environmental issues and maintaining sustainable livelihoods, many useful experiences can be shared during the project. - Forum Skagerrak II
